Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Epps and granddaughter, Wilhelmina Johnson
Mabel Epps Johnson, Lydia Epps, and their brother, Emmanuel, were among the first African American students to attend the Model School and the Millersville State Normal School. Emmanuel graduated in 1897. Benjamin Epps and his family moved to Millersville 1868. Epps set up a coal delivery business at the former Stauffer’s coal yard site while living with his family at 112 Manor Avenue.
