Beatrice Hively Bacon

After graduating with the class of 1928, Beatrice Hively Bacon taught for 35 years at one-room schools throughout Chanceford Township, York County, in the area that eventually became the Red Lion School District. She was also active in her local church, the New Harmony Presbyterian church at the Brogue where she served as president of the Women’s Missionary Association from 1960 to 1961 and again from 1980 to 1981. She also served as the first woman Elder of her church.
