Louisa L. Lillo, a native of Santiago, Chile distinguished herself as an excellent student and teacher. She was known for her musically gifted nature and making contributions to the music department in the form of her interpretations of the great composers of her time. She was one of many students from central and South America who attended Millersville State Normal School during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. She graduated from Millersville in the class of 1918 and chose to continue her education at the University of Pennsylvania before returning to Santiago in 1919. Lillo taught in Chile for 30 years before retiring in 1948. She passed away in 1960.
