Gertrude Johnson
Following her graduation from Millersville State Normal School in 1895, Gertrude Johnson taught together with Mary Wales in Providence, Rhode Island at Bryant & Stratton Business School. In 1914 the pair went on to found Johnson & Wales Secretarial School with the enrollment of just one student. Eventually, their school grew to become Johnson & Wales University with an international enrollment of over 15,000 students.
